  1. You can substitute Cheddar, fontina, or any other melting cheese for the Monterey Jack.
  2. Preheat the broiler.
  3. Prepare Tuna Salad. Divide the salad among:
  4.       4 slices rye bread or other bread of your choice, toasted
  5. Top with:
  6.       4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, grated
  7. Broil the open-faced sandwiches in a shallow baking pan about 4 inches from the heat until the cheese is melted and golden, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve hot.
