You can substitute Cheddar, fontina, or any other melting cheese for the Monterey Jack.
Preheat the broiler.
Prepare Tuna Salad. Divide the salad among:
4 slices rye bread or other bread of your choice, toasted
Top with:
4 ounces Monterey Jack cheese, grated
Broil the open-faced sandwiches in a shallow baking pan about 4 inches from the heat until the cheese is melted and golden, 1 to 2 minutes. Serve hot.
